With the Flyers' rebuilding phase in full swing and General Manager Danny Briere making the necessary changes to help the team now and in the future, one nagging question remains: Will their number one center, Sean Couturier, be ready?

Couturier, who has become a fixture in the Flyers' dressing room and at the center of their number one line, has been sidelined for well over a year due to a major back injury and the subsequent surgery to repair the damage.
Such injuries always raise questions about whether a player can return to their previous level or if their career will be prematurely finished.
In recent news, it appears that Couturier will be ready to play next year as he continues to rehab from his surgery and prepare for training camp.

This is much-needed and welcome news for the Flyers, as the team looked listless for most of last year without Couturier in the lineup.
Having been drafted in 2011 as the 8th overall pick in the first round, the 30-year-old center has played 721 games, scored 180 goals, provided 280 assists, and accumulated 460 points. He also boasts a +82 rating and has contributed 82 power-play points.
Couturier has spent his entire career with the Flyers, and his return will provide a much-needed boost to players like Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett.
Additionally, his presence on the ice will benefit ownership, as Couturier holds a $7.75 million cap hit that extends to 2029-2030.
Barring any setbacks, Flyers fans can look forward to seeing their number one center back where he belongson the ice, scoring goals, and contributing to the team's success.
