"There is no doubt that Travis Konecny has been a huge disappointment this season. The second year forward just cannot seem to get on track offensively this season with just three goals and nine points in 26 games.

During the Flyers current 10-game losing streak, Konecny has just one goal and a lone assist. His poor play led to just two shifts and 36 seconds of playing time during the third period of Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Boston Bruins.

Head coach Dave Hakstol would not admit to benching the young forward, but we are sure what else you would call it.

"Well he wasn't benched, he did get on the ice," Hakstol said, per the Courier-Post. "But that ice time is a little bit earned as well in terms of, we put together a unit that could allow us to switch up the matchup against (Patrice) Bergeron, obviously to free up (Sean Couturier's) line a little bit more on that. The mix was put together after that with kind of a top nine in mind and a bottom three and TK was in the bottom three at that point in time."

Heading into the third period, Konecny was leading the Flyers with four shots on goal, but he had to sit and watch for nearly the entire period.

"That's their decision to try to change some things up," Konecny. "We gotta find — like I've been saying here in the media — find some answers. I guess that was part of the plan. It's just the way it is tonight. Yeah, I guess it's just the way it goes sometimes."
