"With three days of NHL action already complete, the Philadelphia Flyers finally make their season debut tonight. The Flyers host the Vancouver Canucks tonight at Wells Fargo with the Canucks having lost their first game of the season against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. Head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed tonight's lineup. Goalie Carter Hart gets the start between the pipes for Philly as he tries to bounce back from a very rough 2020-21 season. Some familiar faces will stick together on the first line as Sean Couturier will center Claude Giroux and Travis Konecny. We'll see some new faces on the second line though as Derick Brassard will center a line that features Cam Atkinson on right wing and youngster Joel Farabee on the left. When it comes to the team's new defensemen, AV confirmed that Rasmus Ristolainen won't get into the lineup tonight. We will however see Ryan Ellis make his debut with Ivan Provorov while Keith Yandle will play on the third pairing with Nick Seeler.
