"Just when things were possibly trending up, some bad news for Sean Couturier. The Flyers center left yesterday's game and didn't return and now it sounds like he won't be back for awhile. The 29 year old was placed on injured reserve just before last night's game. Couturier played in the Flyers' final game before the COVID break and was eventually placed on COVID protocol list himself, he was expected to be back in the lineup but after clearing protocol was placed on injured reserve. "Sean's been battling with various upper and lower body injuries all year," Yeo said when Couturier was given a maintenance day back in December. "Give him credit. He's a warrior. He keeps playing hard. But a day like today, it's an opportunity for him to rest up and be at his best when it matters in a game situation. And not sort of have him waste his energy for a practice day."In 29 games so far this season, Couturier has registered 6 goals and 11 assists.
