"Big news out of Philadelphia on Monday. The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher took a big name off the trade board and that's because they're keeping him in Philly. Fletcher announced that the team has signed Scott Laughton to a contract extension. Laughton was labeled as a top trade chip at this year's trade deadline with the possibility of becoming UFA this offseason. Instead Fletcher has locked him up to a 5 year deal with a $3million AAV. The move keeps Laughton in Philly and also means he'll have to be protected in the upcoming expansion draft.
