"What a difference a week makes for Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux. After last Sunday's win over the Carolina Hurricanes, Giroux criticized his play when talking with reporters. "Some guys are playing their best hockey of the season, but personally, I've got to step up and bring more for the team," he said. He took his message to heart because eight days later he has been named the National Hockey League's First Star of the Week. Giroux had three goals and six points this week helping the Flyers to an undefeated week going 4-0-0. Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames was named the Second Star of the Week for his two goals and seven points in four games. Third Star of the Week honors went to Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk who went 2-0-1 with a 1.96 goals-against average, a .950 save percentage and one shutout in his three starts.
