When discussing the trade of Sean Walker, Danny Brière stated "it wasn't an easy decision." Due to the play of Sean Walker and the fact that the Flyers are currently in a playoff position, it was hard to pull the trigger, however per Danny Brière, the Flyers were not expecting to receive a 1st- round pick for Sean Walker, as that was an offer the Flyers could not refuse. In regards to Nick Seeler contract extension, Nick made it clear to the Flyers that he wanted to remain a Flyer. Due to his size and his physical play, the Flyers wanted to resign him, Nick currently leads the NHL in blocked shots with 184. However, it seemed what he brought on and off the ice, is why Danny Brière wanted him to remain a Flyer long term. They just had to find a deal that both sides would be able to agree on. Danny Brière was also asked if Ryan Johansen was part of the future and his response was "probably not." Johansen cleared waivers, and is currently assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. However, it appears the Flyers are trying to work a deal where he could play on an NHL team. Danny did not rule out more trades, if they make sense for the Flyers, the trade deadline is March 8 at 3pm.
