The Flyers acquired Erik Johnson at the deadline as part of a trade with the Buffalo Sabres.

Johnson was brought in to help out with an injured blue line and GM Daniel Briere added that he was not expecting Johnson to replace Sean Walker who was traded to Colorado the same day.

«I'm not expecting Erik Johnson to replace Sean Walker,» Briere said following the trade.

However, since coming to the Flyers, Johnson has been playing very well averaging 16:51 minutes of ice time and adding a physical presence to their blueline whenever he is on the ice. Additionally, the 36 year-old has said that he is very happy to be in orange and black, loving the city so far.

«It's been awesome. I've absolutely loved my time here. Philly is a great place to be and it's an honor to be a Flyer.» – Erik Johnson
