The Philadelphia Flyers made a pretty big move on Monday when they hired Alain Vigneault as the team's head coach. Hiring Vigneault is a definite indication that the Flyers have no plans to rebuild or blow things up, instead it signifies the Flyers are serious about trying to be contenders again. The Flyers have about $30-35million in salary cap space this summer to sign free agents and they might go for the home run. The Hockey Writers and Dave Isaac of the Courier both linked the Flyers to Erik Karlsson this week. Would Karlsson chose the Flyers over re-signing with the Sharks? We'll have to wait and see but the Flyers can definitely throw the bank at Karlsson and give him the $11-12million a season he's looking for on a seven year deal. If Karlsson can stay healthy, he would without a doubt be a game changer and revamp the whole look of the Flyers' defense. Would you like to see Karlsson on the Flyers blueline next season?
