Saturday night will see the Philadelphia Flyers take the ice in the iconic 2024 Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ for a historic rivalry matchup against the New Jersey Devils. As finishing touches are made and the ice is laid down in the stadium, fans are beginning to fill with excitement for the Flyers first Stadium Series matchup since 2019.
In 2019, over 70,000 fans filled Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to see the Flyers take on the Penguins that ended up being one of the best Stadium Series games in NHL history as the Flyers completed a wild comeback, capped off by a Claude Giroux game winning goal in overtime as rain was falling.
Saturday night is sure to bring the energy as massive groups of Flyers fans are making the short bus trip up to North Jersey to see the new-look Flyers on a national stage. The Flyers are also set to wear special edition white uniforms on Saturday that have just been made available for purchase at the Wells Fargo Center.
The last time the Flyers took on the Devils was in December at the Prudential Center in Newark as the Flyers came away with the last laugh as Owen Tippett netted a game-winning breakaway goal in overtime.
With Jack Hughes back in the lineup for the Devils and the Flyers young stars getting their first opportunity to showcase their talent on a national stage like the Stadium Series, the Flyers and their fans should be fired up for Saturday night.
