Flyers Announce This Year's Alternate Captains.

"The Philadelphia Flyers get their season underway tomorrow afternoon in Prague, Czech Republic, as they'll take on the Chicago Blackhawks. The Flyers have a brand new coaching staff and a couple of new faces in the locker room including a revamped defense. That means things change with the leadership group as well as captain Claude Giroux's alternate captains were announced on Thursday. Sean Couturier and Jake Voracek will have letters on their sweaters and will be joined by brand new Flyers forward, Kevin Hayes. Hayes of course has a history with new head coach Alain Vigneault from their time in New York together, so you have to wonder if these letters were chosen by the coaching staff and not the players. What do you think of the choices for alternate captains this year?

This season, Sean Couturier, Jake Voracek, Kevin Hayes will serve as alternate captains. Claude Giroux is captain for the eighth season.
