Flyers coach explains decision on forwards chosen to start OT
The Flyers took on the Rangers in a high scoring game that they ended up losing in overtime 6-5.
Fans online have been criticizing the coaching staff for going with Poehling, Cates and Sandheim to start overtime which resulted in the Rangers scoring in the first 30 seconds.Shaw explained to reporters that they went with these 3 players instead of scorers like Konecny because they believe they are great defensively. He added that Poehling was out there because he has proven to be a solid forward at both ends of the ice and deserves to be out there in overtime.

The Flyers coaches may have had the right idea in mind but unfortunately their plan did not work out as expected.
