The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher have a bit of work to do this offseason. Forwards Nate Thompson, Tyler Pitlick, Derek Grant, Chris Stewart, Kurtis Gabriel along with defenseman Justin Braun, Andy Welinski, Reece Wilcox and goalies Brian Elliott and Alex Lyon are set to become unrestricted free agents. While forwards Nolan Patrick, Oskar Lindblom, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Mikhail Vorobyov, Nathan Noel, defenseman Robert Hagg, Philippe Myers and Mark Friedman are set to become restricted free agents. It seems at least one of these players is pretty much guaranteed to leave. According to Eric Engels of Sportsnet, Nate Thompson is expected to rejoin the Canadiens during the free agency period. Thompson of course is a solid veteran on the fourth line however unfortunately sustained an injury during his time in Philly. The 35 year old was able to register an assist in his seven games with the Flyers before he was injured.
