"Despite being what could be considered a ""repeat offender"", Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Makin received only a one game suspension for his dirty play on Monday. Malkin took a swing with his stick at Michael Raffl's head during the Flyers-Penguins game on Monday. To every Flyers' fan disappointment, Malkin was only given a one game suspension. On Thursday head coach Scott Gordon spoke about the suspension and let the league know he wasn't happy at all as he blasted the decision. "It wasn't a high stick. It was a baseball swing. Just because you didn't connect doesn't mean it wasn't vicious. I don't think he should be rewarded just because he didn't connect." Before Malkin was officially suspended, the Penguins forward said he likely wouldn't be suspended because he didn't hit him in the face. "I didn't hit him in the face," Malkin said. "If I had touched him in the face, for sure, I would get suspended. It's a high stick, but it's not like I broke his face. I think I won't get suspended."
The two teams play again on the 23rd of February, it's possible that we see some fireworks.
