After a disappointing loss to the Buffalo Sabres Friday night, the Philadelphia Flyers are now in last place in Metropolitan Division. The good news is that with seven wins in their last nine games, the Flyers are just three points out of a wild card spot entering Saturday's busy schedule.
The Flyers will get their first look at the Columbus Blue Jackets, who currently sit in third place in the division seven points ahead of the orange and black. They went 1-2-1 versus the Blue Jackets last season. The Nationwide Arena has not been kind to the Flyers as they only have two wins ever in the building, with the last one coming way back in 2005.
Brian Elliott was by far the best player on the ice versus Buffalo tonight and it appears that he will start again this evening. This will be Elliott's 11^th straight start with Michal Neuvirth out of action and Dave Hakstol not wanting to give Alex Lyon a look. The veteran net minder will get plenty of time to rest up as the Flyers will be off until Thursday after tonight's tilt.
Hopefully the Flyers will come out with more energy and effort than what we saw against Buffalo last night. The team looked unprepared and uninterested to start off last night and cannot afford a repeat in this important divisional game.
