As we get closer to training camps across the NHL, we might be getting closer to the much speculated Erik Karlsson trade. Yesterday it was reported that the main roadblock in Karlsson changing address is the fact that the Sens would like Bobby Ryan included in the deal, with even the possibility of the Sens retaining 50% of his salary. The main teams are still attached to Karlsson, including the San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights. However Pierre LeBrun of TSN claims two new teams have entered the race but refused to name which ones. Mark Spector of Sportsnet believes the Flyers could be one of those teams along with the Arizona Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche, New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders. Landing Karlsson would come out of left field for the Flyers, however they currently have $10million in cap space and could send some salary the other way to balance out the Ryan contract. They also have plenty of cap space moving forward combined with young talent to give them the opportunity to sign Karlsson long term. Do you think the Flyers have any chance of landing Karlsson?
