The Flyers have been having an incredible season when most analyst thought they wouldn't make playoffs before the season started but now they sit third in the Metropolitan division.

The team had many injuries on their blueline lately with Drysdale and Ristolainen out which makes insiders think they will be going after a D before the deadline. According to sources, GM Daniel Brière has reached out Kent Hughes to acquire a defensemen, possibly Arber Xhekaj.
The Canadiens have a surplus of young defensemen which makes it possible that a trade may occur involving one of their defensemen. Insiders have also claimed that Hughes has put Jordan Harris on the trading block which a team such as the Flyers that need defensemen may look at.
Word on Jamie Drysdale is he's out week-to-week with the hope he will be able to return this season.
It will be interesting to see if Brière makes a move but the Flyers definitely need help on the backend right now.
