The Philadelphia Flyers lost a tight game to the Florida Panthers last night by the score of 2-1. It put an end to a great run by the Flyers and the game had a weird feeling with the team only putting up six shots on net in the first period.
Once again the Flyers failed to convert power play time, even if they only had one opportunity last night it's a glaring problem this year. Philly sits 28th in the league when it comes to the power play, converting only 13% of their chances so far this season. With the expected return of James van Riemsdyk, head coach Dave Hakstol has made some changes to his units. The first power play unit at Wednesday's practiced featured Giroux - Couturier - JVR - Gostisbehere - Voracek with JVR placed in front of the net. The second unit featured Patrick - Simmonds - Weal - Konecny - Provorov with Patrick playing the wall. Dave Isaac also points out it's likely that JVR will play on the team's third line with Weal and Simmonds. What do you think of the team's new power play units?
