"After a couple of days of speculation, the Philadelphia Flyers made it official during the middle of the night.
The Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher shipped off Anthony Stolarz to the Edmonton Oilers in return of Cam Talbot.
As pointed out over the last couple of days, Talbot has been a mentor for Flyers goalie Carter Hart over the last couple of years and the duo trains together during the offseason.
What sticks out about the trade though with the addition of Talbot, between Talbot, Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth, is that the Flyers now have almost $10million invested in backup goalies.
Stolarz leaves the Flyers after seven years with the franchise and posted a 6-4-4 record along with a 2.86 goals against average and .911 save percentage in the NHL.
TRADE ALERT: The #Flyers have acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Anthony Stolarz. https://t.co/mzPANUwVSG
