From 2015 to 2019, Dave Hakstol served as the coach of the Philadelphia Flyers before becoming an assistant coach in Toronto two years later. Despite his extended stay in Philadelphia, he was relieved of his duties by Chuck Fletcher due to a gap in communication with the team.
Nevertheless, Hakstol did not give up and was appointed as head coach of the Seattle Kraken in 2021.
Although his first year in Seattle was challenging, it was expected as teams and coaches need time to establish a rapport.

However, this season has been a complete turnaround, with the Kraken performing exceptionally well under his well-rounded and skilled coaching.
His impressive transformation has earned him a nomination for the Jack Adams Award, which was last awarded to Darryl Sutter, a fired coach.
The Kraken has yet to be knocked out of the playoffs, despite losing talent to injury. But congrats coach on your nomination!
