Despite a William Neylander game-winning goal in overtime to life the Maple Leafs over the Philadelphia Flyers in Toronto, the Flyers still earned their fifth straight point after an exciting comeback. As the Flyers look towards the Stadium Series in New Jersey on Saturday, the team received some unfortunate injury news after the game.
In his first game as Team Captain, Sean Couturier appeared to have suffered some sort of lower body injury, as he was seen limping off the ice at the ten minute mark in the third period.
Along with Couturier suffering an injury, Flyers youngster Cam York also appeared to suffer an injury, after he was slammed against the boards in the beginning of the third period, that incited a scrum between to Eastern Conference foes.
Nothing official has been released by the Flyers regarding the two players status for Saturday, but both failed to finish the game on Thursday night after sustaining their injuries.
"Big concern coming out of that game is the health of Cam York and Sean Couturier. York didn't return following that Benoit hit. Couturier got one more shift on the PP after that slash on the knee and then didn't appear again. Hopefully they're both fine for Saturday."
