Nick Seeler now Knows his trade deadline fate

The NHL trade deadline is just 13 days away and many teams are forced to make key decisions regarding the future of their franchise, including the Philadelphia Flyers. One decision looms regarding a key Flyers defensemen who has become quite the fan favorite in 2024. After being a top candidate for many teams the last two months, it now appears the Flyers are reluctant to trade their defensemen.
30-year-old defensemen Nick Seeler has been a physically dominant force this season for the Flyers when appearing on the ice, and is the perfect player for Philadelphia as he isn't afraid to drop the gloves and mix it up.
Seeler has this quality that cannot be measured in the stat sheet. It seems like anytime the Flyers need a spark or are lacking physicality, Seeler provides that spark whether it is delivering a big hit or dropping gloves.
Seeler showed this in the Flyers most recent win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday when he mixed it up with Reese Johnson.

On Friday night, it has been reported that after months of being a top trade target, the Flyers are not only appearing to be reluctant to deal Seeler, but they are looking to engage in talks for a contract extension. The news was first reported by Darren Dreger of TSN.
"So now what GM Danny Briere hast to figure out is, OK, what's the cost of that contract look like for a defenceman that's a tough as nails defensive defenseman, who they love in Philadelphia by the way, versus what they might get in return on the trade front. So, to be determined. But I wouldn't be surprised if Seeler signs that extension and stays with the Flyers."
