The Philadelphia Flyers are still in the process of finding a suitable candidate for the President of Hockey Operations role.

However, there seems to be a complication as the team has enlisted the assistance of a specialized firm, which could pose a conflict of interest.
The Flyers have hired Neil Glasberg of PBI Sports in a consultant role to help find a President of Hockey Ops in their continual search for a replacement.

It seems questionable that the Flyers have hired someone to assist their organization who may be in violation of the NHLPA's rules prohibiting agents from representing players and coaches.
«There's a reason why the NHLPA has a rule in place where agents are not allowed to represent both players and coaches or managers,» another current NHL coach told Daily Faceoff. «You can't sit on both sides of the table. That's not right.»

When questioned by DailyFaceoff.com, Bill Daly dismissed the concerns and stated that their awareness of the situation is not a cause for worry.
When Glasberg was asked by DailyFaceoff about the conflict of interest, things got spicy:
«There won't be any comment from me,» Glasberg said. «You can decide on any kind of conflict, I'm not going down that page. There's nothing for me to say.»

When asked why Glasberg felt it was proper to be hired as a consultant in a search where clients or close connections of clients may be candidates, Glasberg bristled.

«You have no [bleeping] clue,» Glasberg said. «You're making something out of nothing. You should quit while you're ahead. Learn how to read between the lines.»
