"The Philadelphia Flyers looks like they've made a very interesting coaching addition for the 2018-19 season. According to various reports including Renaud Lavoie from TVA Sports in Quebec, the Flyers have decided to bring on Michel Therrien as an assistant coach next season. Therrien was most recently head coach of the Montreal Canadiens for four and a half seasons before getting fired on Valentines Day 2017. There's plenty of speculation that Therrien pushed PK Subban out of Montreal and was fired once he lost the locker room for pulling Carey Price in a game that he didn't want to leave. Price stared down Therrien as he headed towards the locker room and Therrien was fired a couple of days later. Therrien has only missed the playoffs three times during his nine full seasons as head coach of the Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins and his defensive systems have proved to be a winning structure. We should see an official announcement sometime this week.
Michel Therrien is back in the NHL. The @NHLFlyers will announce that he will be an assistant coach to Alain Vigneault. Confirmation should come in the next few days. — Renaud Lavoie (@renlavoietva) May 5, 2019
