"From all accounts the Philadelphia Flyers are done with Dale Weise. However the situation is far from solved. Earlier this week general manager Chuck Fletcher placed Weise on waivers and no teams claimed him resulting in the 30 year old clearing waivers. However the Flyers didn't assign Weise to Lehigh Valley of the AHL and his future was put up in the air. A couple days later and the Flyers still haven't found a solution for the forward who didn't skate with the Flyers at Friday's practice. After practice head coach Scott Gordon told reporters that Weise won't accompany the team on their trip to Montreal and will start his bye week early. He admitted he's not sure what exactly the plan for Weise is after the All-Star break. As much as we can all admit he doesn't bring much to the lineup, you have to feel bad for the forward at the moment.
Per Gordon, Dale Weise will not accompany the team to Montreal. He will start his bye week early. Still in Voorhees, skated on his own. Not sure what plan is with him after the All-Star break. — Bill Meltzer (@billmeltzer) January 18, 2019
