The Flyers currently have the league's best Penalty Kill percentage of 86.3% of power plays killed off. All season the Flyers have made it terrifying to be on the powerplay for other team. They are always a threat to score shorthanded and also lead the league in shorthanded goals with 14. Teams need to be wary of the Flyers ability to quickly turn a powerplay into a nightmare by scoring shorthanded, which can make teams play less aggressive with the man advantage.

One of the biggest reason the flyers don't give up powerplay goals: Shot Blocking.
Shot Blocking is an imperative if you want to play in John Tortorella's system and you will not play if you are unwilling to jump in front of shots. It is one of the reason Torts is insistent that the flyers have no intention to trade Nick Seeler, who happens to lead the league in Blocked shots with 181. He had 3 alone in the Flyers double minor 4 minutes Penalty against the Senators, which they successfully killed off.
This skill goes with the overall theme of unselfishness this team demonstrates night in and night out. They are giving everything to the team and to make the team better, including jumping in front of 90MPH bombs from the point. The Flyers "Power Kill" will live on if the players keep buying into this one aspect of the game.
