"The world stopped for the Philadelphia Flyers way before the coronavirus pandemic put a hold to the 2019-20 season.
Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom was diagnosed with cancer and it's been an everyday battle ever since.
The Flyers forward definitely inspired the team the rest of the way as they went from fighting for a playoff spot to fighting for first place in the Metro Division.
During a recent Flyers Mailbag, Dave Isaac of the Courier Online offered an update on Lindblom's situation.
""According to general manager and team president Chuck Fletcher last time he spoke with reporters, March 30, Oskar Lindblom is still receiving treatments for Ewing's sarcoma, which was a diagnosis he learned about in December. Lindblom is staying in his Philadelphia apartment so I assume he's still going to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for those treatments.
If it wasn't a scary enough diagnosis before, it seems a little more so as the entire world shows concern about the spreading of germs. Part of Lindblom's treatment plan is chemotherapy, which generally weakens a patient's immune system. Hopefully Lindblom and those around him are taking the necessary precautions. He posted a short video of him on a stationary bike on his Instagram account last week, so it appears as though he's able to stay at least a little bit active.""
