Update Regarding Shayne Gostisbehere Trade Rumors.

As the lockdown continues across North America because of the coronavirus pandemic, NHL business resumes as usual minus the games. Teams are still signing players to extensions and signing NCAA prospects to entry level contracts.Philadelphia Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher has kept busy as Fletcher signed prospects Tanner Laczynski and Wade Allison and the GM has high belief in the duo. "I expect that they'll challenge for spots (on the Flyers) right away," Fletcher said. "Whether they can make it, time will tell. They're players that are very close (physically) to being able to step in and play (in the NHL)."
However he might not feel the same about one defenseman currently on the team. For what feels like two seasons we've heard that defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere is on the trade block but he's remained with the team. A mix of his declining stats and lack of solid defensive play haven't really created a market for him and he didn't do much to impress new head coach Alain Vigneault this year either. Combined with a mix of injuries and healthy scratches, Ghost only played 42 games of the Flyers 69 games so far this year. When he did play, the defenseman usually played on the team's third pairing. With the NHL expansion draft around the corner, Flyers insider Sam Carchidi reports that Gostisbehere's time in the Flyers' organization has likely come to an end. Carchidi believes that Gostisbehere will be moved during the upcoming offseason whenever that is. "Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim, and Phil Myers would probably be the defensemen the Flyers protect. That would leave Shayne Gostisbehere available, though he could have a bounce-back season in 2020-21 to give the Flyers a reason to pause." writes Carchidi.
