The Philadelphia Flyers lost a tight game against the Ottawa Senators last night by the score of 2-1. While Sens' goalie Anders Nilsson did make some really big saves last night, the story line was more the Philadelphia Flyers inability to execute on anything offensively. Flyers forward Jake Voracek also feels the team just didn't come out with as much energy as the Senators. "[The Senators] kept skating. They kind of spread the ice, and they were attacking with a lot of speed," Voracek said. "We were a little bit slow, and we came up short."
The Flyers were even given a four minute power play that they basically did nothing with. "In the end, we had a lot of good looks, we just didn't connect," Voracek said. "Obviously, if you don't score, it doesn't matter how good you move the puck, and if you move the puck badly and you don't score, you don't score. Especially in a 2-1 game with a four-minute power play, you should be able to find a way."
A frustrating loss, but the team will have to put it behind them as they play the New York Islanders tonight.
