"The Philadelphia Flyers fought hard and played a really good game against the best team in the league last night. Unfortunately they just couldn't get over the hump and lost to the Washington Capitals 2-1 in shootout. One player who had a rough night was rookie Joel Farabee. Farabee was first demoted in the second period before eventually being completely benched all together in the third period aside from one short shift of 51 seconds. Head coach Alain Vigneault explained why the rookie went from playing on the top line to riding the pine. "Joel was fighting it a little bit tonight and that's a pretty big team, and a pretty good team with a lot of experience," Vigneault said. "So sometimes in games, you've got to make some decisions. He'll be right back at it next game, but for tonight, (it was) just the way I thought we should go."
Farabee will have a chance to get back in AV's good graces on Friday against the Ottawa Senators. "
