"Wayne Simmonds has been having a bit of a down year, at least to his standards, even though he has 20 goals and 37 points in 59 games. Simmonds has been out of action since February 18 with an upper-body injury and his presence on the ice has been missed.
Simmonds was back on the ice this morning taking regular line rushes, it looks like he will be making his return to the lineup for Wednesday night's huge game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Wayne Train was on the third line today with Jordan Weal and Valtteri Filppula. This means rookie Oskar Lindblom will remain on the second line with Nolan Patrick and Jakub Voracek. Leaving Lindblom on the second line gives the Flyers three lines that can score now, which will be huge down the stretch.
Defenseman Andrew MacDonald was also on the ice this morning. While he is considered day-to-day, it looks like he could be good to go versus the Penguins tomorrow.
