The Mad Russian Matvei Michkov could be coming to the NHL sooner than we had all expected, that part has been established. What we don't know is how that will impact the Flyers.

Michkov is likely only coming over early if he is promised certain playing times and positions. Russia wants Michkov to succeed in the NHL. He is similar to Conor Beddard and Canada. So what does that mean? In all likelihood it means top 6 forward minutes along with PP1 minutes.

This could affect a surprising Flyers, Joel Farabee. There has been recent trade speculation that Farabee is being shopped by Flyers GM Danny Briere. This now makes sense as Owen Tippet and Tyson Forester have already been elevated on the roster to top 6 minutes. Moving Farabee could be a move to give Michkov his guaranteed minutes.

Why would the Flyers do this? Because he's Matvei Freaking Michkov. The most exciting and dominant prospect who most likely would have went number one overall if he was able to play in the NHL right away. He is a franchise changing talent that is so close to come the Flyers can almost taste it. Farabee is well liked in Philly, but he seems to be expendable when it comes to bringing in Michkov. Stay Tuned Flyers Fans!!
