In March, there were rumors that Flyers' goaltender Carter Hart was looking to play in Russia for the KHL. However, it turns out that those rumors are false. Carter Hart and his agent Judd Moldaver are not seeking out teams in the KHL.
Carter Hart took personal leave last January, then a week later was charged with sexual assault. The trial has not yet taken place and most likely won't until 2025, and Canada will most likely, not let him leave the country until the trial is completed.
Carter Hart's rights belong to the Flyers; however, he will become a restricted free agent this offseason. The Flyers must offer him a qualifying offer by June 25th, or he will become an unrestricted free agent. If Carter Hart is not signed by December 1, 2024, then he would be ineligible to play in the 2024-2025 season. Danny Briere has confirmed that they have not received any direction from the NHL on how to proceed.
