In the Flyers 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night, there wasn't much for Flyers fans to celebrate about on the ice as the Flyers fell to their rivals as most of the night was masked by the Cutter Gauthier trade that sent shockwaves through the NHL. Despite the loss, Flyers center Scott Laughton still instilled some life in the Wells Fargo Center with a massive hit.
During the second period, the Flyers were down 3-1 with just over seven minutes left in the period. Whether it was frustration, good timing or both, Flyer center Scott Laughton got Flyers fans on their feet as he laid out the not-so-beloved Sidney Crosby, causing both sides to get into a scuffle after the hit.
Despite the 4-1 loss, Laughton gave Flyers fans something to remember as the Flyers vs Pens rivalry still runs deep and will potentially give both teams something to ponder over before their next meeting.
