On Wednesday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that one of the NHL's brightest young superstars in Connor Bedard underwent jaw surgery which will cause him to miss the next six to eight weeks. In doing so, Bedard will also unfortunately be sidelined for the 2024 NHL All-Star game in Toronto.

On January 5, Bedard left the game against the Blackhawks early as Brendan Smith delivered a hit which would cause Bedard to be sidelined for a significant amount of time.

The 18-year-old number one overall pick has not disappointed in his rookie season as he leads his team in goals (15), assists (18) and points (33). In doing so, Bedard was selected to the 2024 NHL All-Star game in Chicago in the first weekend of February.
Fans who have never had the chance to see the young phenom perform, but unfortunately with the injury Bedard will not be cleared in time for All-Star weekend.
