Tuesday afternoon was a chaotic one for the Philadelphia Flyers and they fans as they received unfortunate news regarding star goaltender just hours before puck drop against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Following the news of Carter Hart, the Flyers announced major moves as they move forward without Hart.
As Hart remains out for the foreseeable future, the Flyers have recalled 29-year-old goaltender Cal Peterson from Lehigh Valley where he has spent most of the season with the Phantoms in the AHL.
Peterson has a 5-8-2 record in 15 starts with Lehigh this season with an .890 and a 3.26 GAA. Peterson has played two games with the orange and black this season going 1-1 in those starts with an .896 save percentage.

This proves to be a massive opportunity for Peterson to show the Flyers what he is capable of as he will be backing up Samuel Ersson for the time being. Peterson came to the Flyers this season after spending his previous five seasons with the Los Angeles Kings.
Along with recalling Peterson, the Flyers also announced that they placed Owen Tippett on the injured reserved list after Tippett had a scary collision into the boards in Saturday's loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Flyers are sure to miss Tippett who has been an offensive machine the past few weeks and has shown his shot creating skill this season. Although he was seen skating the day after the injury, the Flyers want to take the proper precautions and give Tippett the proper treatment before sending him back into action.
