As the Flyers welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Wells Fargo Center tonight, head coach John Tortorella and the orange and black announced who will be taking the spot in between the pipes tonight. Amidst the announcement, talks of a goalie controversy heats up.
After getting the start on Sunday against the Ottawa Senators, Ersson once again was rewarded with the start for tonight's matchup against the Bolts. After Carter Hart didn't have his best afternoon on Saturday night against Colorado, many are wondering if a goalie controversy is brewing with Ersson getting two straight starts.
Ersson is currently 12-6-3 with three shutouts, a .909 save percentage and a 2.36 GAA thus far on the season. Meanwhile, Carter Hart currently sits with a 12-9-3 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.80 GAA this season. Almost identical numbers.
