There have been many stories over the years of players falling into the trap of making millions of dollars and having access to parties, drugs and alcohol. Many can control these temptations while others cannot.

Earlier today, the NHL and the NHLPA announced that Washington Capitals centerman Evgeny Kuznetsov has joined the NHL Player Assistance Program.
Kuznetsov has had his running with drugs over the years and in 2019 he tested positive for cocaine while being on the Russian national team at the World Championships. That test cost him four years from international play.
The NHLPA and NHL stated that he will remain out indefinitely until he is able to be cleared to play once again. The program has been vital to helping players get back to the game as it was created in 1996 and gave players access to a hotline, counselors and mental health professionals as they deal with their issues.
We all hope that Kuznetsov can make a speedy recovery and wish him all the best.
