There were reports yesterday seemingly out of nowhere that Flyers prospect goaltender Alexei Kolosov wants to return to the KHL and play for the Dinamo Minsk due to issues with adapting to North America. Not only this, but there are also reports that the Dinamo Minsk were not in any hurry to address their goalie vacancy as they were waiting on Alexei Kolosov.

Kolosov was drafted by the Flyers in the third round of the 2021 but has spent the last four years with the Minsk. Kolosov signed his entry-level contract in July of 2023 and played this past season in the KHL on a loan. Now, players having issues adjusting to North America is not surprising as the KHL plays completely different styles from the NHL and AHL.
Per Jordan Hall, Flyers are not aware of anything regarding Alexei Kolosov going back to KHL and the Flyers believe he is just homesick. Also, since Alexei Kolosov is under contract for two more years, he cannot just leave for the KHL, the Flyers would need to give him permission.
Also, per Kevin Kurz, "sources close to goalie Aleksei Kolosov calls the reports he wanted to go back to the KHL "just rumors." Doesn't sound like there's anything to it."
It appears that these reports are just rumors which is good for the Flyers as they need Kolosov to be their bridge goaltender for their recently drafted young goaltending prospects.
