Bedard absolutely lit up the WHL in 2022-23, amassing 143 points on an almost even goals and assists ratio, scoring 71 goals and 72 assists. Despite his youth, Bedard has shown he can skate at an NHL level, scoring 33 points in his first 39 games with the Blackhawks, notching 15 goals and 18 assists.
After a hot start, Bedard suffered a broken jaw in December, keeping him sidelined for over six weeks. Bedard was forced to miss the All-Star game and Skills Competition, driving him to get back to the ice as soon as possible.
After announcing on Monday that Bedard could be on his way to making a return, news came on Thursday morning by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman that Bedard is aiming to play tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
