The Philadelphia Flyers have missed the playoffs and therefore their season is now officially over. For this reason, the Flyers can now loan players with 2-way contracts to the Phantoms. Flyers have loaned forwards Bobby Brink and Olle Lycksell and defensemen Ronnie Attard and Adam Ginning to the Phantoms (AHL).

Obviously, it would have been better if the Flyers made the playoffs, and these players were not loaned to the Phantoms. However, now that they are, they can help the Phantoms make the playoffs and make a run at the Calder Cup. The Phantoms have 3 games remaining and they need 1 point in the remaining 3 games to clinch a playoff spot. In the AHL, 23 teams make the playoffs, so there could be potentially a lot of hockey that these players could have left. Most of these players, were called up later in the season, however, Bobby Brink did play 57 games for the Flyers in which he scored 11 goals and 12 assists. Hopefully, he can help the Phantoms make a deep playoff run.
