The Philadelphia Flyers lost tonight in Carolina to the Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime. Now, its disappointing to lose in overtime, however, they do receive one point in the standings, and with only 12 games remaining, you will take as many points that you can get. Which is why it was so huge for Tavis Konecny to tie the game 2-2 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. Not only did the Flyers gain one point in the standings, they also received help in the standings.

Red Wings do the Flyers a favor with 6-3 win over Islanders. Help Flyers extend lead over Islanders to six points (one game in hand) with Flyers getting a point. Now, Flyers hope Hurricanes can re-pay favor tomorrow & beat Capitals to keep playoff lead at four points. #LetsGoFlyers
The New York Islanders, who are chasing the Flyers in the standings, lost to the Detroit Red Wings 6-3. The Islanders now trail the Flyers by 6 points, but they do have one game in hand, the Islanders are currently struggling though as they are on a 6-game losing streak. Now, the team that just recently passed the Islander in the standings and are playing well lately is the Washington Capitals. They will play the Carolina Hurricanes tomorrow. Hopefully the Flyers can get more help in the standings, while they are off and retain their 4-point lead for 3rd place in the division. A victory tomorrow by the Carolina Hurricanes, will be huge as the Capitals have two games in hand on the Flyers. However, for the Flyers, all they have to do is win and they will be in this year's playoffs.
