For many Flyers fans, losing out to signing Johnny Gaudreau was one of the worst moves that former general manager Chuck Fletcher committed during his time with the Flyers.

Many felt that this was a slam dunk and that Gaudreau would have been a great fit for the team especially in their rebuild phase, let alone growing up as a Flyers fan.
After signing a long-term deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets, it appears that he is falling out of favor with ownership and the team may be willing to make a trade to move on from 30-year-old left winger according to hockey analysts Kevin Paul Dupont and Lyle Richardson.
Gaudreau certainly could use a change of scenery add a fresh start after a disastrous one. This could be an opportunity for general manager Danny Briere to hold discussions with their management team as they are continuing their search for a new GM after the firing of longtime general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.
When he was on his game, Johnny Hockey was a prolific point producer. Several years with the Calgary Flames produced 80 to 100 points per year as he was the driver of their line. A trade would certainly be complicated and certainly would require some roster players to be moved as the players only have $2.1 million in cap space next season.
With both teams in a rebuild, it's quite possible they could find some common ground and bring Johnny hockey to the Flyers as so many thought would happen two summers ago.
