The Philadelphia Flyers season ended without making the playoffs as they won only two of their last 11 games. There could be many reasons why the Flyers struggled down the stretch, but one of the reasons could be attributed to the loss of Sean Walker. The Flyers traded Walker at the deadline, and around that time had three defensemen go on the IR which seemed to derail the season. However, this offseason Walker will be a free agent, should the Flyers pursue him?

Should the #Flyers try to bring back Sean Walker this summer?
Prior to the deadline, the Flyers had to make a decision if they should extend Nick Seeler or Walker and they chose Seeler. For this reason, Walker was dealt to the Avalanche but the Flyers received a first-round pick in return. Prior to the trade, Walker exceeded most expectations for the Flyers as he was just a thrown in for the Ivan Provorov trade. While playing for the Flyers, Walker played in 63 games and scored six goals and 22 points. He also led the Flyers in on-ice rating with plus 9, so he had high value at the deadline. With the Avs, he played in 18 games with four goals and seven points. His role with this team did diminish compared to the Flyers, however the Avs have significantly more depth. This could help the Flyers obtain him in the offseason as his value has seemed to decrease.
If the Flyers do purse Wlaker, expect the AAV to be in the $4 to $4.5 million range. This deal could be worth it for the Flyers since, two of their defensemen's health are in question, Ristolainen and Drysdale.
