The Philadelphia Flyers season has officially ended and so has the draft lottery. The Flyers have two first round picks, and they know they will pick 12 overall and their other first round selection will be determined once the Florida Panthers are either eliminated or wins the Stanley Cup. The question is now, who will Flyers general manager Danny Briere select in the first round?
Most have stated that this year's draft will have average talent, however, at 12 the Flyers could potentially draft Cole Eiserman, a forward from Newburyport, Massachusetts. Cole Eiserman played for the U.S. National Development Team for the 2023-2024 season. He played in 24 games and scored 25 goals and 9 assists for a total of 34 points. Cole Eiserman has great goal scoring ability, but many have deemed to be a one-dimensional player as he is not much of a play maker. Cole Eiserman may very close to being an NHL ready player, so he is worth the pick.
With the Florida Panthers pick, the Flyers could potentially draft defenseman Cole Huston. This past season as U-19 NCAA freshman defenseman, Huston scored 8 goals, 34 assists for a total of 42 points in 42 games. With the draft nearing, hopefully the Flyers can select the right players to help this rebuild.
