Now, the Flyers do look tired, especially Sam Ersson as he played almost every night since Carter Hart went on leave in January. The Flyers are not that talented of a team, which we can see on their power play, which is dead last in the NHL. However, the issue that most fans may have, is not that they are losing, but how they are losing as most did not expect them to make the playoffs prior to the season. The team is continuously losing to bottom of the standing teams and not just losing but getting blown out. The Flyers should be able to beat the Blackhawks, Blue Jackets and Canadiens but instead lost by at least four goals to all three teams. Also, missing the playoffs may be more acceptable to most, if they did not start so well and now, they look like the worst team in the NHL. Lastly, the Flyers are in a rebuild, per general manager Danny Briere, and he is ensuring, that draft picks and young talent is not traded away for rentals which we saw last trade deadline. There is talent to look forward to in the future, including
Tyson Foerster, to OHL players like
Denver Barkey and
Oliver Bonk. However, there is no excuse losing 9-3 to an inferior Canadiens team in a playoff race.
