As trade season heats up with the trade deadline 50 days away, the Flyers have been at the center of trade talks. With the Flyers in contention for a playoff spot and also trading their top prospect Cutter Gauthier, many are unsure what the Flyers are going to do.
One trade proposal floating around twitter has the Flyers dealing a fan-favorite defenseman for some other assets and defenseman. Although unlikely, the proposal has definitely been picking up some momentum around the hockey community on twitter.
The official proposal has the Flyers dealing defenseman Nick Seeler and Sean Walker to the Ottawa Senators for center Shane Pinto, Travis Hamonic and the Senators fourth round pick in 2025.
Although Flyers fans are reluctant to give up Seeler and Walker, and for good reason, the trade would give them another young piece in Pinto who was drafted in 2019 and only 23-years old, as well as another trade pick they could use as leverage during other trade talks.
As of right now, the Flyers are probably reluctant to trade Walker and Seeler, but it will be interesting to see to what price Danny Briere is willing to part with one or both defenseman.
