Going into the 2023-24 season, Philadelphia Flyers fans expected this season to be a rebuild with lots of front office moves to be made during the season. As the Flyers are flipping the script and turning heads, key vets and fan favorites that went into the season not knowing if they would see Philly by March, are seemingly becoming key pieces to the puzzle this season.

The first player, and most obvious, that the Flyers are going to keep is Travis Konecny. Believe it or not, although small, there were whisperings of Konecny's future with the Flyers. Konecny has quickly silenced those voices as he responded with his second career All-Star appearance of his career in 2024.
Konecny has had a tremendous start to the season, leading the team with 40 points on 21 goals and 19 assists. Konecny has shined on the penalty kill as he has helped the Flyers power kill move into top five of the league and Konecny has the most shorthanded goals in the NHL.
Not only is Konecny expected to remain with the Flyers, there's talks that he is in contention to be the next team captain.

A second Flyer that is expected to be held onto by Danny Briere is veteran Sean Walker. Coming over from the LA Kings as a cap dump, Walker has been a pleasant surprise for the Flyers this season. The defenseman has made his time on the ice count and has contributed 15 points to go along with 11 assists on the year.
Lastly, a third Flyer the team is expected to keep is Owen Tippett. Tippett has been one of the highlights of the team this year, showing off his offensive skillset and clutch gene, coming up in big moments.
In the teams last game against the St. Louis Blues, Tippett gave the Flyers the lead for good with a late third period goal. Tippett has been able to come up in big moments, with his biggest coming in New Jersey in December as he netted a game winning breakaway goal in overtime to win the game.
