Monday night was an emotional one for Philadelphia fans. Not only were the Philadelphia Eagles eliminated from the NFL Playoffs, but legendary Eagles center Jason Kelce announced he was retiring after 13 NFL seasons. The Flyers and their community took to social media to show their gratitude to Kelce.

Kelce was a Philadelphia icon because of how he played, his personality, and his speech after a Super Bowl 52 victory where Kelce was dressed in a mummers costume and delivered a speech that echoed the sentiment of underdogs, something that the 2023-24 Flyers bring to their locker room.

Kelce has been a huge supporter of the Flyers over the years, consistently attending games, stopping by the locker room to speak to the guys and even wearing a Flyers jersey under his shoulder pads during practice when the Flyers were in the 2020 Playoffs in the bubble.
Kelce was no stranger to hockey as he played at the high school level for his hometown for Cleveland Heights Ohio. Kelce played all four years of high school, recording 95 total points, 57 total goals and 38 assists in 98 games played. Not bad for a guy who's first priority was football.
With Kelce retired, Flyers fans may see more of Kelce at Flyers games repping the orange and black.
