There's a strategy that many coaches in hockey have said along with pundits and experts on the television is that just throw the puck the net and anything can happen.

It appeared that was the best thing to do however, it was also quite painful as Joe Gambardella of the Utica Comets learned the hard way.
During their game against the Sycracuse Crunch, Gambardella assited with the goal from Comets winger Graeme Clarke at 8:13 of the 3rd period.
After the goal was scored, Gambardella skated off quickly to the dressing room to get repairs on his mouth and check to see if he has any teeth left. Many of his teammates skated towards him as they were wondering how he was doing. The goal was awarded to Utica's right winger Graeme Clark.
There was no word on whether he returned to the game after the hit.
